Waiting for snow and cold weather on Pohorje must be this year even harder,

because Športni center Pohorje has prepared many novelties for this season.

There is a new 6-chairlift with hoods, the first of this kind on Pohorje. It serves

the new ski slope Uršank #1, boosting with  the widths of 100 – 140 meters and

the lengths of  1.800 meters. The new chairlift is 1.720 m long, has a vertical lift

of 360 m (927 – 1.287 m) and the capacity of 3000 skiers per hour.

The accommodation capacities have been increased by 300 beds in the new 4-star annex to the hotel Arena, the new 3-star hotel Videc in the Bolfenk area

and the two apartment houses in Ribnica on Pohorje.

Kids will enjoy the new reserved and protected area “Bolfenk” at the chairlift

Stolp and the belt-lift with tubes in the Areh area. The ski slope Sleme at the

ski lift Bellevue shall thus be less crowded.

The new ski slope Uršank #1 is equipped with 35 high pressure snow-making 

machines with automatic regulation. Altogether there are 135 snow-making

guns installed on Mariborsko Pohorje, in the  Bolfenk and Areh area (in addition

on Kope 16 and  Ribniško Pohorje 10). Their snow making capacity is 5700 m3/h,

pressing almost 500 l of water per second through the system.
