Austria's Elisabeth Goergl claims her first victory of the season in her 146th race in the World Cup. The Austrian was leading after the first run and maintained the best time also in the second run. The second place was obtained by Italy's Manuela Moelgg, who also managed to hold the placement from the first run till the end of the race. Third was her team colleague Denise Karbon, the winner from the first four giant slalom races this season. After a bad Slovenian first run, our skiers were leaving the finish arena in a much better mood. Mateja Robnik was 19th, Tina Maze 24th and Ana Drev 26th.
