FIS snow controller satisfied

( 03. 01. 2009 )

Filip Gartner, this time in a role of a FIS snow controller, was satisfied on Saturday morning. He skied down the race slope twice together with chief of the race, Gorazd Bedrač, and bored into the snow on several locations in order to check the snow depth. In the finish arena he then finally gave green light for the 45th Golden Fox Trophy.

Filip Gartner, FIS snow controller: "There’s enough snow on the whole slope, at least 40 centimetres and with that snow depth a race course of high quality can be easily prepared. Not all the snow has been arranged all around the slope appropriately yet, this needs to be done in the next days, but what concerns me, there’s a green light for the race from my side."

Gorazd Bedrač, chief of the race: "Until Monday snow will be arranged along the whole slope, which means that the basic course preparation will be finished till then. On Wednesday we’ll inject water into the snow and at the same time, very intensively, we’re making snow on other slopes, so that skiing into the valley will be possible. There will be skiing down the race slope possible until Tuesday, when the slope will be closed, but the skiers will be able to ski down the Čop slope then already."

Srečko Vilar, secretary general of the OC: "This green light gives final motivation to the organizational team. Everything goes as planned, all best skiers are registered already."
