Kranjska Gora will host the 100th jubilee Golden Fox race tomorrow

Michelle Gisin will open tomorrow's slalom, the 100th Golden Fox race! The first Golden Fox race took place in 1964 (2x slalom). In its 58-year history, from 1964, the Golden Fox had 55 slalom, 44 giant slalom races, and one super-G race (in 1999). From 1970 there were 47 world cup slalom races, 40 world cup giant slaloms, and one world cup super-G race.

In its long history, the entire event was canceled only twice, in 1988 and 2011. Three individual slalom races were canceled in 1981, 2001 and 2016, in addition to three giant slaloms canceled in 1982, 2006, and 2014. 

The Golden Fox was supposed to host the men's world cup slalom race in 1985, but the race was canceled. So until now, the venue had to be changed twelve times, of which Kranjska Gora hosted the event ten times (1976, 1988, 1991, 2007, 2012, 2014, 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022). Badgastein hosted the Golden Fox in 1974) and Sarajevo - Jahorina in 1975.
