Tessa Worley and Slovenian team success

( 07. 01. 2017 )
Tense GS on a splendid race course – Best Slovenian Ana Drev 8th, Ilka Štuhec' career success

Excellently prepared race course, uproaring cheering of 15 thousand fans for every single racer and a fabulous fairytale took care of a tense GS race for the 53rd Golden Fox won by the French Tessa Worley. After the first run timings were extremely tight just like in the second run, when it stayed pretty much the same. Shiffrin did not manage to keep up with the best after having taken the lead in the first run, she unfortunately lost her victory in the lower part of the slope and thus did not place herself onto the podium. The best were some racers that had never been among the leading racers of the Golden Fox races.

The Slovenians succeeded as a team, although Drev spoiled her placement from the first run. However, 8th place is a top result and her second best in foxy races. Our home racer, Ilka Štuhec was 14th, which is her best placement in GS World Cup. Also Tina Robnik moved herself forward for some places and placed herself among the top twenty skiers.

Tina Maze bid farewell, Slovenians did an excellent job and GS for the 53rd Golden Fox was one of the most marvellous races in the history of Pohorje Cup.
