Snow control: competition confirmed!

Snow controller Hans Grogl congratulated organizers for excellent work –Technical team will spent New Year's Eve on racecourse- Incredible interest for 53. Golden Fox event

Hans Gorgl, FIS snow controller, enjoyed skiing in the sun on Pohorje slopes. After racecourse check he congratulated chief of race Mitja Dragšič for work done excellently and sent a message to reporters: From my part, competition is confirmed«. Hans Grogl: » I like being in Maribor, I have many friends here and today was especially a pleasant day. Organizers did their job excellently, exceptional work, there is enough snow along entire racecourse length, almost meter deep, racecourse width is also sufficient. Competition is confirmed, you have green light for final preparations and successful realization of Golden Fox! Congratulations to all! I also made some videos and will be happy to send them to director Skaardal with a positive report from Pohorje! Mitja Dragšič, chief of race: « Since circumstances are very much in our favor we expected a positive report. Slovenian skiers also complimented snow surface. Now we are facing a crucial period in time, we will follow weather forecast and try to keep the snow surface quality. This is why we will spend the New Year's Eve on racecourse. We cannot leave anything to coincidence. In the middle of next week, we plan to do final snow surface preparations. Recourse will close on Tuesday, after holidays. «Srečko Vilar, general secretary OC Golden Fox: » 27 teams with 116 competitors are registered.  Team from Kenya registered as last one.  There is a significant interest for the competition, currently we have over 500 confirmed guests. This is important as we summoned our guests for donations in order to support young ASK Branik skiers. The reaction is exceptional, meaning attitude towards free ticketing is nevertheless changing. We already have announcements for 15 live TV broadcasts and are expecting 15.000 visitors on site in addition to full Leon Štukelj square on Saturday and Sunday, where TV Ljubljana will record a special show regarding Tina Maze's farewell. Tina will train in Maribor from tomorrow on. In short, along great successes of our skiers like local Ilka Štuhec, winner of four world cup races this season and Ana Drev  who will fight for top places in giant slalom, we are all set for an exceptional 53. Golden Fox!«
