50th FIS Congress held in Cancun (Mexico) in June 2016 was an important landmark in shaping the future of Golden Fox event. FIS officials determined World cup ski racing calendar until 2020 and confirmed Maribor as one of organizers for ladies’ events. World Cup’s Committee in Zurich later on confirmed dates at the meeting held at end of September.

In 2018, Golden Fox race in giant slalom and slalom is scheduled on 6. - 7. January (Saturday-Sunday). In 2019, the event will take place from February 1. -2 (Friday- Saturday).

During Zurich meeting, race organizers received new guidelines for race organization and World Cup Committee announced a 50-year celebration of FIS Alpine World Cup, to be held on 5. January 2017 in Zagreb, Croatia.
